Flying Feathers hunting
season is November 1 through April 1. |
| What Do I Need To Bring? Each hunter should bring
his/her own license, a hunter orange cap or vest, walking boots,
a shotgun and shells. We advise using #6 shot for chukar and pheasant
and a #7 or 8 shot for quail. Most of your shots will be over the
gun dogs and at fairly close range. Improved or modified choke works
best. We also suggest bringing a cooler to transport your game home. |
| How Many Hunters Per Group? Our guides will take
up to four hunters per hunting party. We will take singles during
the week. When you have several hunters in your group, you will
have more birds to hunt. This means more excitement. Each hunting
party will have their own area and will not share a field with another
with another group. |
| Is A Hunting License Required? A Missouri hunting
license s required. If you are an out of state hunter or do not
have a Missouri license, a Preserve Permit may be purchased on-site
for $5:00. For hunters born after 1967, a hunter safety course card
is necessary for purchase of a permit. |
| Can I use My Own Dogs? You are more than welcome
to hunt behind your own gun dogs. But you must remember we can not
control your dog, which means you must accept responsibility for
the outcome of the hunt. You may also hunt your dogs for part of
the hunt and then switch to to ours if you choose. Many clients
like to bring their own dogs to train or 'sharpen their skills'.
This works great since you know you will find birds!. |
| Do We Have To Have A Guide? A guide is required
by our insurance to assist your hunt. Our Guides are experienced
hunters and are simply there to assure you have a safe and successful
hunt. We are sure you will enjoy the hospitality of our guides. |
